Saint-Gobain PAM UK awarded major contract with South East Water

March 2009

The annual contract spend is estimated to be £4m, runs for a confirmed three years plus a potential two year extension and is for the supply of ductile iron pipes and fittings for all South East Water projects.

Saint-Gobain PAM UK, the holder of the contract for several years, had developed a proven track record of excellent service and quality with South East Water – ensuring that the team at South East Water knew it could rely on Saint-Gobain in the future.

In order to win the tender, Saint-Gobain PAM UK put together compelling evidence of its reliability, innovation and value for money. Its significant investment into the development of new products highlights how new products can add value while removing the cost associated with installing ductile iron pipe systems. It also demonstrated its strong commitment to maintaining stock levels and ensuring a robust supply chain providing South East Water with confidence in its ability to service the account.

The tender process also provided the platform for Saint-Gobain PAM UK to showcase its total solution of a diverse range of quality pipes and fittings, and a technical service department available to provide ongoing assistance both on and off site.

Finally, the support offered by the Customer Services Department and Regional Sales Manager, provides South East Water with complete day to day care of its business, as well as project management.

Paul Martin, Regional Sales Manager for the South East for Saint-Gobain PAM UK, commented: "We are delighted to have retained this contract for South East Water and it is a reflection of the complete solution we offer from high quality products through to complete project management."
