How does it work?

This reflective solar control glass product is manufactured by a process known as “on-line Pyrolytic coating” wherein silicon-based coating is applied to the glass surface by means of pyrolysis. Also known as hard coating, the process fuses precious metal oxides onto the surface of the float glass at high temperature while the glass is in formation.

The coating imparts a “mirror-like” appearance to Reflectasol, giving it visual appeal while providing functional benefits

Where can it be used?

This reflective solar control glass is best suited for buildings in geographies with tropical climate, where solar heat needs to be controlled in order to keep interiors cool.

Advantages

Solar control: This reflective glass reflects a large proportion of incoming solar radiation, thereby restricting heat penetration into the building.
Energy efficiency: This reflective glass reflects the right quantity of sunlight so as to limit glare, while allowing adequate amount of natural light. Thus, the need for artificial lights as well as air conditioners is significantly reduced.
High durability: Being ‘hard coated’, this reflective glass is scratch-proof and undergoes minimal wear and tear.
Ease in processing: The processing technique for this reflective glass is similar to that of normal float glass.
