The Select City walk mall at Saket is one of the most popular shopping destinations in South Delhi. Spread over an expansive area of 1.3 million sq.ft. The architecture is a blend of exotic interiors and beautifully landscaped outdoors. While a lot of emphasis has been placed on the ambiance and elevating the shopping experience, Citywalk has gone a step ahead in ensuring that the washroom design is a class apart too.

The Architects, Vistap & Associates, have used Saint-Gobain’s coloured and lacquered glass – Planilaque – to good effect. The washroom walls have been clad with 550 sq. m of glass, creating a stunning impression all around. The innovative interior design was put together by a melange of Planilaque colours in Solar Yellow, Mint Green, Black, Extra White and Flame Red. The glass for the washroom wall cladding was used in the form of a collage, in straight lines but in a flurry of these multi colours.

SGG Planilaque was the preferred choice, keeping in mind not just the aesthetics but the place of application as well. After all, washroom design calls for the highest standard of material to suit the humid atmosphere. Planilaque, with its moisture-resistant properties, perfectly served the purpose. It is a hygienic and eco-friendly glass, being lead-free and having minimal amounts of VOC, copper, formaldehyde and arsenic. Therefore, in a public place, it poses no health hazards for visitors to the mall. The lacquer on one side of the glass also ensures durability, besides making it scratch-proof as well. Bathed in Planilaque, the washroom wall cladding at Citywalk is yet another interesting interior design idea from Saint-Gobain.
