The ITC Centre at Gurgaon, India, spanning an area of 1, 70,000 sq.ft. was the world’s largest LEED Platinum Certified Building till 2004, courtesy its status of a green office.
Gurgaon's climate that reels between 450C in the summer and close to 50C in the winter, called for a glazing solution that would grapple with both the extremities./p>
Saint-Gobain Glass suggested the use of two double glazed glasses for the green office – SGG Cool-Lite Blue Green and SGG Parsol Green. The two glazing solutions delivered the desired requirements; the double glazing helped in reducing the incoming solar radiation into the green office, optimized the incoming natural light, thereby reducing the need for artificial lighting and air conditioning. The result – energy conservation by as much as 53%.
The ITC Centre is a green office that reflects Corporate India's commitment to environmental sustainability and a greener tomorrow.
